old contacts keep reappearing/merge with son's?

My phone keeps merging my contacts with my son's contacts.  When I manually manage the contacts on my phone, the deleted contacts will reappear.

Are you both using the same Apple ID?
Are you both syncing your contacts with iCloud or with the same email address?
