service keeps dropping after IOS 10.1.1 upgrade

I have an iPhone 5C. It has been working just fine. After installing IOS 10.1.1 update, I noticed that I would often have "No Service" in places where I always had good service. It seems to have gotten worse, as I cannot even connect reliably at home, much less when travelling. I have the My Verizon app and have used it to check my device health. All is fine there. What to do, Verizon? Phone is useless as a phone without service, and no, simply upgrading to a later model phone is not a solution, as it was working fine until the update.
