weak to no signal

I have had Verizon for over 15 years without a problem but the last few months the signal in my home has been very poor. I am showing 1 bar now when I used to have full bars. I ditched my home phone years ago and rely on my cell. I am in the 28277 zip code with plenty of towers around me, many more towers then 15 yrs ago! I do not want to pay for a booster, that is not fair! What is going on?
