will not start

I cannot get my I phone 7 to start, It is only about a month old.My battery was getting low I plugged it into the car charger when I checked it 15 min later to my surprise I got nothing. I have tried the thing with the sound button and the on/off button and nothing works.  I have tried severl outlets, phone cords.  I have taken the sim card out and put back in.  Also my charging cord gets hot which it did not do when the phone was working.  And I am on vacation/not home

You are right on the ball by trying these steps from Apple, Bettho98. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201412 If the device stays off, then the warranty can be used as long as the phone is in good condition with no cracks or water damage.

I know this could not have come at a more critical time while on vacation. but there are a couple of quick routes to try, One is if there's an Apple store nearby, then an Apple Genius can look into it ( locations: https://www.apple.com/retail/ ) . Alternatively, if another phone is available, call into customer service at 800-922-0204. They can arrange for a delivery to your current vacation spot.
