I ordered an Iphone 14 Pro Max on Verizon's website on 11/17/2022 and called to cancel the order the same day after about an hour and the representative told me the order has been successfully cancelled and I should not be charged for anything. However, I was really careful about these stuff so I did check to make sure they cancel the order. I received the refunded amount from Verizon for the cancelled order through Paypal (which I still have an email of the refund) and I still have the tracking number from UPS that shows the order was never delivered to me and instead was returned to Verizon. I thought everything was resolved until today after I got back from vacation and received a collection letter from Verizon which was sent on 12/19 when I was out of state. The letter states that I own $121 and that I would need to pay it immediately. I attempted to call Verizon this morning many times and was told my account was closed and was sent to a collection agency. Verizon also reported it to the 3 credit bureaus and it affected my credit score by 68 points! This doesn't make any sense to me, how come I be charged for the service that I never receive? And Verizon didn't even wait for me to call about the bill, they inform me about the balance on 12/19 and I called them on 01/05, it has already been sent to a collection agency? This is unacceptable. I tried to call Verizon and all they told me is they wouldn't take it off my credit report and wouldn't give me any information at all, they told me to go and deal with the collection agency, meanwhiles, the collection agency told me to talk to Verizon about that. Terrible customer service and not helpful at all. I'm planning to buy a car at the end of this month and this ruins everything! I don't care if I have to pay the amount I don't own but please help me to get it off my credit reports. I've already filed dispute to all three credit bureau but not sure if it would work.

Update: Still haven't been able to contact Verizon regarding this issue. The rep wouldn't let me finish the story but just hang up on me and told me to go deal with the collection agency. The collection agency said they have nothing to do with the credit bureaus and told me to talk to Verizon?
Seriously, what am I getting into? It affects my life heavily and my future plan but Verizon wouldn't do anything to help me get this resolved.
