No Text Messages In or Out

I just got my phone and I was able to receive the texts from Verizon but I cannot get any or send any out. I have looked through the threads and I have tried turning the message back up on and off and all the other tricks. Nothing is working. Any other tips or advice on how to get my text messaging working.

I have a Windows Phone 8X by HTC.

I get "Can't Send Message. Try Again." everytime I attempt to send a text.

It started from the moment I got the phone. I can receive texts from Verizon but I don't receive them from anyone else and can't send any out. I got this phone and my new plan on Sunday.

I updated the software earlier this week when I first got my phone. Still no texting.

I can do everything else. Calls, email, internet, apps. Everything but text messaging. Should I just go into a store and get help there, I am starting to lose my patience.

Text messaging is my main means of staying connected with family and friends, so I definitely understand your frustration!

Are you still unable to send or receive text messages? Did you take your phone into a VZW store already?

We are aware of others with this phone having the same issue and a recent software update has been released to address this. The new software version is: 3030.0.41301.605 and Baseband: 0.17.50.0918_3. Please check to make sure you have the lastest update http://vz.to/19zn4g6.

If you do have the latest update and are still unable to send or receive text, you may need to perform a hard reset http://vz.to/186a4xM. I know this can be inconvenient but some time necessary after a major software update.

Keep me posted if you need further assistance.

Checked for updates, still good on that. Did the hard reset, still no texting. I am going to try and go to a Verizon store tomorrow.

Ok so I took my phone to the store. They ordered me a new one. New phone arrived, set it all up and STILL NO TEXTING!  I did a software update and everything like I did before. My work requires me to have texting and my superiors are not happy with me. PLEASE help me fix this. I have never had such difficulties with Verizon before.

Sorry. I updated my phone again today. Still no texting. Should i go into a store to fix this? I need texting for my job.

I feel for you BrigC. My husband and I have just moved to smartphones for the first time and neither of us can text on our phones either. Just got the phones yesterday and updated them right after activation and still no texting. Everything else works but not texting and that is the most important feature for us. Let me know if the store was able to help you.

Good luck getting your texting problem resolved. I believe I got lucky. I

have had good experiences with the online chat. You may want to try that

before going into the store. The stores in my area were not very helpful.

Yes we did have text blocking and that was supposed to be removed. I am

thinking that did not happen. Will have to check with Verizon in the

morning.
