I would like to document that I just spoke with Verizon and their recoveries departments and they stated my "outstanding" bill was not reported to the credit bureaus. I closed my account in September and paid the final bill....so I thought. Then I recieve a bill mid December for $11.67 followed by a collections letter by IC systems.
Today, 12/26/2017, at 9:51, I contacted IC Systems to make the payment, explain the sistuation and verify this was not reported. IC Systems stated they do not do any reporting, b ut that would rather come from Verizon and I should contact them.
I was able to speak with the representative at verizon around 11:15am on 12/26/2017 and explain the situation and was then sent to recoveries to confirm the credit reporting status. I informed them I made the payment to IC Systems and they said they would not see it for a couple days. I was informed by recoveries that this $11.67 was not reported. I asked for an email confirmation and was told they do not have that ability, but they would make a note in my account.
Don’t take their word for it.
you can check your credit reports for free yearly and see what is on there.
https://www.annualcreditreport.com/index.action Or
you can use a company called credit karma http://www.creditkarma.com
and check on any derogatory information in which case you then can be at ease.
negative reports stay on your credit file for 7 years. So this is nothing to take lightly.
That is what I am afraid of. I have perfect credit, and worried this will ruin that. At this time my credit is still clear, but the collections notice was dated December 13, so it may not show up yet if it was reported.
