Verizon reported my account as closed by the customer and deliquent.
I have been a customer for years, and Verizon decided to change my account number, I have not moved.
I even called in when I lost access to my account online and was assured everything was OK.
Finding the right sport to get this fixed seems impossible.

Get your credit bureau reports on line and dispute the action. The bureaus will investigate and remove it.
your rights can be found under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.
