Hello,
Who can I contact for help with a paid balance on an old account that is still showing up on my credit reports after a year and a half of being paid? I've tried calling 1-800-837-4966 and there is an hour wait time. Looking for a goodwill adjustment. I spoke with someone Saturday, they stated I need to speak with the business services department Mon-Fri.
Help !

Thank you!
So I am having the same issue. I'm a military veteran that has been with Verizon for over 10yrs. A few months ago because of increasing charges I decided to switch my service. There was a balance on the account that I did pay in full but noticed it still is showing on my credit report. I also decide to reconnect my service and I'm a current customer. I've been passed around via chat and phone trying to speak to someone to see how I can have this item removed. I spoke to someone from the credit department that pretty much told me they can't help me, then sent me an email saying my old balance was paid and I'm welcome to request a new account. I'm like wow I'm already a customer for my home & cell, which tells me she wasn't even paying attention to me. I was also shocked and disappointed to find out, that these items can be removed since she told me it couldn't be. My credit is otherwise outstanding and i just want it removed. Verizon prides themselves in supporting vets but I didn't not feel valued as a Vet or customer today. Please, help...
Hi Cd3014,

You must contact the three credit bureaus and either file an online dispute for the trade line, you can also call them or write them a letter. Under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act the bureaus must investigate and if the vendor does not respond or they cannot get it verified it has to come off within 30 days.
it is advisable to have written authorative proof. The simple act of saying your issue will not suffice. Verizon may not respond and it will come off. Or they may respond and say it was not paid originally but is paid now. In this case the delinquent listing is justified and will remain on the bureaus for 7 years.
hope it all works out for you.
