One day a door to door salesman and his trainee came to my house to sell me Verizon services. We went over the plans and options and while we were doing this I told the salesman that I thought I heard or saw an ad on the radio, TV or on the computer saying that there would not be any installation or activation fees and that there was also a $300 gift card. The salesman told me that what I heard or saw was not available anymore, so I said OK, I guess I missed it . So we proceeded with the deal, not knowing that he was lying. A week later, the day before my installation date I was on the Internet and saw the same deal I had mentioned to the salesman. I called Verizon and the customer service agent told me that because I didn't sign up on-line that I got the deal I was sold. I told them what the salesman said and the customer service agent said the same thing again and that there was nothing he could do about it. Then I told them that if the door to door salesman would have told me the truth this would not be an issue. And again the customer service agent said he was sorry but there was nothing he could do.Needless to say I have to pay for the internet activation fee and I do not get the gift card, so now I'm posting here for everyone to see and tell your friends and neighbors to avoid Verizon door to door salesmen like they have the plague.
I ORDERED ONLINE AND DID NOT GET A 300 GIFTCARD LIKE THEY PROMISED.
Hi danstheman2k,
Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe". Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.
