Double Charged for Same Service


I set up to cancel my Fios Internet a week or so ahead because I was moving out.  They counseled me on which day to set it up for which was the last day of my billing cycle.  I told my ex and he set up to have service put in his name that same day.  The day came and went and I made my last payment.  Not long after I receive a bill for the month after I left.  Called my ex and he said He already paid for his new service.  Then I called Verizon and they tell me the service was cancelled on the 3rd and I have to pay for an extra month that my ex already paid for.  My billing period ended on the 2nd which is what I told the person who set up my disconnect.  I never knew a company could bill you after you disconnect service with them.  And when I further investigated my payment history, found out I was double billed on my 1st two autopays.  If this does not get fixed I am done with Verizon forever!
