I have been a loyal Verizon customer for years and was quite happy with their 20/5 FiOS service. I have NEVER had a late payment since 2006. Every so oftern I would get a rate increase which I was agreeable to accept. In 2009 it was $45/mo.
In 2010 it was $55/mo. In 2014 it jumped $65/mo. I have since terminated my Verizon phone land line in July (no more bundle discount) but my Internet service jumped $85/mo!! Still the same speed and same service. This is unacceptable. I have called a National ISP competitor and they offer a similar internet service at $66/mo after the 1st year. If Verizon continues to jerk a loyal customer around I will switch without hesitation. Verizon can reply to this thread and explain their reasoning for jilting a loyal 8 year customer. Loyalty has its limits when I comes to this type of price gouging.
The more items that you bundle the cheaper your service is. Stand alone pricing is much higher for the same service then a bundle is.
But what if you don't need or want a landline or TV service????

Then you pay the higher price for stand alone service.
