My 2 year contract with Verizon has expired. I had the Fios Triple Play at a pretty decent rate for 24 months. $109 plus receiver fees and tax brought the bill to about $147 a month. The current options that I'm seeing for renewal are significantly higher. If I want to pay the same price as my previous contract I have to downgrade my internet from 25/25 to 15/5 and downgrade my TV to Prime HD. ( I had Ultimate HD) I'm not happy with paying the same for less and trying to chat online gets me nowhere.
I spoke to Karen in Customer Retention yesterday. She requested that I call back on Monday to see if any offers show up in her computer. I feel like I'm getting the run around. I called back in August and they told me to call back on September 19th and they can most likely give me the same contract for another 2 years. Now I'm being told they can't do anything unless an offer shows in their computer.
Does Verizon want to retain their customers or do I have to switch back to Directv?
The best deals come up right before the contract ends on the website. Once the contract expires a lot of the deals won't come back. No matter what you will always pay more when each contract ends. Just the way it is.
If you switch back to Directv, in 6 months you will be considered a new customer with Verizon again and can get new customer pricing again. Most companies are like that.
All companies do it though. Once your promo pricing is up its regular prcing. I remember having Directv years ago. My bill doubled after 2 years and was told can't give you anything. Brighthouse? Same thing. Luckily when I resigned with Verizon last time I got a $300 card, but that was only because when I originally signed up I wasn't in a contract and that was the perk to get me into one.
Right now if I were to resign with 8 months left It would actually cost $5 less for me because I recently added the $10 internet upgrade which isnt part of my contract.
Two years later and I'm going through the same thing again. My rate is $109 but after all the add ons, I pay $168 a month. That's a huge increase. I just want to keep the service I have without the price crawling up. Can someone retain my service?
Your talking to peers. All we can make are suggestions. E.g. USUALLY best to renew before it expires.
