I have been a loyal customer to verizon for years.

My 2 year subscription expired and while trying to sign up for another one you're agent told me my bill is going to increase $50 / month FOR FEWER CHANNELS than I have now. That is absolutely rediculous and makes zero sense. Is that how you treat loyal customers? I'm so upset and currently shopping around to other providers.

You did not upgrade or renew yet? Don't. You will have to have a friend or family member sign up for new service under their name to get the better deal. Or as you wrote you could just cancel fios and go with another provider.

those lower prices are for new customers. Alas.

I never take any contracts with fios and cable or any service company so I can leave when I like.
