Just got off the phone with customer service, who refused to credit the charge and, in fact, insisted she had "proof" that I both ordered AND watched this UFC fight on my basement set top box.
Supposedly, this was PRE-ORDERED on Tuesday 03/14 at 5pm; then watched for FIVE HOURS some time during the evening on Saturday 03/18, concluding at 8:34 pm.
THIS DID NOT HAPPEN.
Full disclosure, I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old - the latter of whom likes to press buttons on the remote. Upon seeing the bill, I thought maybe she inadvertently ordered something having just mashed some buttons, perhaps during one of the ridiculously annoying pop-ups we're presented with upon turning the STB on. THe CS rep insisted there is no way a 1 year old could do this, as there are "7 steps to ordering" a PPV event. Funny, though, while on the phone with her I went to channel 1001, where a DL Hughley PPV event was listed, clicked "OK", and was presented with a dialog that said "Click 'OK' to purchase this event for $4.99". That is two steps, not seven. Regardless, it apparently was not my darling 1 year old baby girl, because she definitely did not pre-order a UFC fight on a Tuesday, then go down the basement to watch it for 5 hours, by herself, the following Saturday!!!
This was only a month ago. I remember what my wife, kids, and I were doing that Saturday night, and it wasn't watching a UFC fight for 5 hours. This is so utterly ridiculous, I'm at a loss for what to do.
I don't want to go through the hassle of switching to Comcast or one of the Dish networks, but I'm not inclined to stick around with a company that can just charge me for anything and then claim I asked them to do so.
A quick Google search revealed I'm not the first person to which this has happened.
Can't help but notice the multitude of results when you search THIS very forum for "charged for ppv i did not order".
