Why am I billed for a Regional Sports Network Fee?

I don't watch any professional sports and don't want to contribute to the outrageous salraies professional sports people are paid.  Is there a way to eliminate the monthly $3.48 Regional Sports Network fee charge from my bill?

I agree! That's like charging a porno fee to a church that does not watch porno. Outrageous!

It would be nice if you could decline to receive Regional Sports and receive a credit.  But some of the major players such as ESPN also tie their non-sports channels into a requirement that the sports channel be carrried.  And other sports channels require that all the people in their area (or even nationally) have those channels.

Verizon and most of the other carriers have resorted to seperating the fee so you know who to blame for price increases.  I am not sure that is working as sports fans keep demanding their favorite sports channel be added, whil also complaining about price increases.

I am not paying every month for Sports Network Fee when I do not watch sports, I am deducting the fee every month and Verizon can cancel my account if they want

Just renewed contract after 4 years with Verizon.

Never paid a Regional Sports Network Fee before.

Now being charged $5.92 /mo = $71 per year.

Have no idea what this does for me.

Also pay the $1.73 /mo Video Franchise fee whether we rent someting or not.

Another fee that doesn't seem to make any sense.
