My father (fios account is in his name) passed away earlier this year and my mother had to move into a nursing home in an area without fios service. We had service stopped, but an early termination fee was included on the final invoice. Have made multiple calls to customer serice trying to get the etf waived (the initial call said a form would be mailed, but that didn't happen), was sent to a local Verizon store ("sorry we can't help you"), but no help. Tried to use the online etfwaiver form (upload death certificate as proof of unavailability? - doubt fios is available in the next life), but don't have an order number and mom is not the named account holder. There has to be a better way to do this, very frustrating having an 85-year old widow brought to tears by customer service.
