I live in New York, but I have a 323 Los Angeles #. I noticed recently that the voicemail timestamp is giving L.A. (Pacific) time. How can I change it so it gives New York (Eastern) timestamp?

Is your service address changed to the New York location?

kahajose,
That would certainly concern me too! It's important that everything shows up the way you need it to. Let's make sure we solve this. What phone do you have? Has this always been the case or did this just start recently? Can you think of any recent changes to the phone?

Hi Andrew! I have a Blackberry Classic. It hasn't always been like this. It started after an extended trip to California in May. Ever since I got back home to New York, the voicemail time stamp is still California time.

kahajose,
That makes a lot of sense. The phone may not be recognizing the home area for some reason. Let's see if we can fix that. Can you try turning the phone off and removing the SIM card? Go ahead and leave that out for a minute or two and then put the SIM back in and turn it back on.

Hi Kahajose,
Thanks for the hardwork! The voicemail platform is going to be based on the area code of the number. If the number is Los Angeles number the voicemail will steer to a Los Angeles timestamp.
Thanks,

That hasn't always been the case though and is illogical that it doesn't adjust to current time zone

Does your phone have the correct time showing at the top? If not it might be in the actual VM settings. Call #8899 from a different phone if you can or 8009220204 so tech support can help.
Hope this helps

Yes. Of course it has the correct time with everything except voicemail, otherwise I wouldn't have singled out incorrect time on voicemail being the issue.
Sent from phone.

Jason, thank you for providing us with all this helpful information. I would like to have you dial into your voicemail, *86 and send, then go to the administrative options settings. Once there please verify all the settings for the time are set correctly in the setup. Here is a link for assistance. http://vz.to/1W5vKkh

I've already tried that, obviously. It does not give an option to establish/change time. Please advise.

The voicemail time stamp is set by the system in which your digital 'box' is located. If you have a Los Angeles number, your 'box' is located in Irvine, so it will only be pacific time when using this service. If you want to keep your number and are on the east coast simply add 3 hours to the time for adjustment, or if you change to a eastern time zone number all messages would have that time. Some device software/apps may make time adjustments visible on your device, these would be discovered by you however.

I would verify the service address not the mailing address is based on the location you want the time zone to be.

Let's get that clock up and running! Do you also have a Blackberry? When did this start?

I have the same problem. As others have said above, your voicemail time zone is usually the same as the area code in your phone number. When you call in to your voicemail, try accessing your "personal options" and "administrative options". There may be an option there to change the voicemail time zone.
I only have basic voicemail, and I see no such option for me.
