voice mail setting

I am trying to change my voice mail settings so that my calls do not go to VM after only one ring.  I would prefer several rings at least.  I have been unable to find the procedure in online help and Tech Service was useless tonight.  I have a BB 9550.  The procedure that I did find said to go to "setting" on the main screen.  I do not have that app.  Can anyone help me?

Hi,

If you need to adjust the time or number of rings before a call goes to voice mail on your device, you will need to contact customer service.  They can adjust it for you.  You might get a CS rep who will tell you that it can not be adjusted, simply thank them and hang up and call again, hoping to get a more knowledgable rep.  It can be done, but it has to be done from their end.  Hope this helps.

Doc, thanks for the info.  We went to our local Verizon store last night, the store where we bought the phones originally, and in less than 10 minutes we had two phones updated to ring four times before going to  voice mail.  That store is the best!!! The employees are very knowledgable and so nice. 

 

The night before I was on hold for Tech serviced for 30 minutes only to be told it can't be done. 

 

so we will see if it lasts.  Thanks again.
