Bought a 2020 VW Atlas Cross Sport with a built in Verizon wifi and 1G trial for 30 days. I am trying to add the IMEI number to my Verizon Wireless account.... but Verizon says that no plans are available for this device... Its crazy because if obviously has the trial plan and the Volkswagen site will allows me to buy Verizon internet for the device in 30 day chunks for $20 a month. Why can't I just the device to my account? Tried to call, but the wait times were horrible. Tried the chat, but the guy called "Bud" and told me he had no idea what I was talking about.
I wouldn't bother with the hold. The IVR will route you to someone who only deals with cell phones and other connected devices -- not cars. You'd be met with confusion followed by a transfer to potentially the wrong dept. I'd contact VW and ask for the Verizon number associated with that service so you aren't wasting your time.
