Forum session time-out > login > endless loop of login page reloading

Verizon forums: I was on this page

I left my browser open on that page for a day. I assume that my session timed out. Top right said "Hi     (Sign Out)"

Usually it says "Hi <my family name>  (Sign Out)".

Below that it said “Forums sign in” near upper right. I clicked "Forums sign in";  URL is
https://forums.verizon.com/t5/authentication/ssoredirectpage?action=login&referer=https%3A%2F%2Fforu...

, which redirected to this login URL
https://ssoauth.verizon.com/sso/authsso/communityLogin.jsp?goto=https%3A%2F%2Fforums.verizon.com%2Fv...

, which loops endlessly, reloading partly then reloading partly … .

Environment:
Google Chrome browser Version 74.0.3729.169 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Mac OS X version 10.11.6 (El Capitan)
