Do you have an international plan on your line? If not, you will be charged the international rates for any usage carried over the cellular network.

lapsley84, we'd be happy to help you check your old messages. Can you tell us more about the content that you're looking for? Were these messages still on your device or have they since been deleted? Are you looking for the specific text within the message or just the records of the phone number the message was sent to or came from and the date/time?
