How much will it cost to receive and send texts in London?

I plan to use wifi with my iphone in London.  However, I need to know how much it will cost to receive/send a text or make a quick call at the airport for car service.  Thank you.

If you don't sign up for a plan and are using just the pay-as-you-go service it will cost .50 to send a text message and .05 to receive a text message.

Itraveler​ should keep in mind if they are sending group texts it would be $0.50 for EACH recipient of that group text, i.e. if you sent a group text to 10 different people it would cost $0.50 x 10 or $5 for that group text if they do not purchase an international plan thru Verizon.
