You'll know who's calling - even if it's a Call Waiting call
With Call Waiting ID, you'll be alerted to an incoming call when you're already on the line, and you'll also be able to see the name and number* of the person trying to reach you. Since you'll know the identity of your second caller, you can choose whether to answer the new call or continue with your current conversation.
*The name and/or number of your caller may not be displayed for every incoming call. In some cases, you will see a message on your Caller ID display unit instead of the name and number of the caller. The exact wording of the message may vary depending upon your display unit. "Out of Area" or "Unavailable" messages may appear for calls made outside specially equipped areas, calls made through an operator, and for certain telephone numbers for which Verizon does not purchase Caller ID information. "Private" or "Anonymous" messages may appear for calls made by people who have blocked the display of their telephone information.
You can block "Private" or "Anonymous" calls by activating Anonymous Call Rejection (ACR). ACR is included with your Call Waiting ID service.
