After upgrading my old Quantum Gateway router which had 3 extenders connected per coax as well as 2 MOCA 1.0 ethernet adapters I am having following issues:
1. E3200 on second floor will go blinking yellow and lose internet connection randomly (maybe every hour or so)
2. I use to have a coax splitter that had a coax connection to an extender and one coax cable to an ethernet adapter (All Verizon branded). Now that the E3200 replaced the old extender and I bought a new MOCA 2.5 ethernet adapter the ethernet adapter will not work (light is blinking and never changes to solid).
I installed the MOCA 2.5 ethernet adapter elsewhere in the house and it has same issues as the extender as it randomly will disconnect from internet..
I installed a POE MOCA coax filter at the ONT level as per someone's recommendation but that did not solve anything. I also turned off IPv6 on router.. Maybe the COAX cables can not "handle" MOCA2.5 signal?
Anyone have suggestions?
thank you in advance.

I would be more suspect of splitters than the cable itself as older units might cause issues. Poorly applied connectors, low-quality cable and/or splitters with unterminated ports can also create problems. An inspection of the existing cable hardware & infrastructure might be worth it. 🙂

I have very similar issues to yours. Just upgraded to the same hardware from the older equipment. I randomly get kicked off my work vpn and wireless speeds are all over the place (even when sitting right next to the extender.). Removed my MOCA adapter and seemed to clear things up for a while but it didn’t last. Removed my switch and it made no difference. I have to try turning off ipv6. It this is not good. Called support and got “is the light white on your extender? Yeah? Good? Thanks.”
Please post if you get any help. Only thing that got better here was my airplay to my receiver works again.

So I spoke with a friend who is an IT engineer. He mentioned that MOCA 2.5 may require different coax cables than MOCA 2.0. The coax cables in my house are at least 15 years old.. So i swapped out the one from my extender to the splitter in basement as well as the one to the Router from splitter. And incredibly enough my extender now gives me 900 up/850 down speeds according to speedtest and no more blinking yellow lights.. worth a shot if your coax cable is old. I also had a similar issue 3 years ago where a Verizon tech cam out and we realized the 8 way splitter failed..

The weird thing on my end is the inconsistency between days. Yesterday was blazingly quick with zero vpn dropouts over 13 hours. The night before, my old (2009) Mac Pro kept throwing ping spikes into the hundreds to my router. No changes made between the two days. have to keep going to see what comes up.

Well I thought changing the coax cable solved my issues but they just reappeared. Yellow light on extender every few minutes... I am thinking it must be a faulty extender. I reset it twice already so am tired of this nonsense...
