I called 1.866.483.9700 to opt my account out of CPNI

https://www.verizon.com/about/privacy/customer-proprietary-network-information

but your automated system did not recognize

my account number who's digit count is 3-3-3-4.

it does not give you the option to identify yourself by phone number

related to your account, or to speak to a human agents.

so what do i do now ?!

it turns out an account number does not become complete till a few weeks after you get service.  today my account number changed to number of digits format:  3-3-3-4-2 so i tried the automated system again and it seemed to work properly and reconized this new variation of my account number.

so if anyone searching the forum finds this thread - the system is expecting your isp only account number to be 15 digits long.  despite what some other poster wrote here, you cannot do this online - you need to get through this automated phone system, or call a human being at customer service and hope they know what you are talking about.

I believe there is a web portal link at the Verizon web site. Enter in the search box for cpni and follow the instructions.

the problem is that even via jumping through hoops Verizon does not make it easy to stop sharing information.

i believe you can notify the http://www.fcc.gov 

and file the online complaint and Verizon will contact you. The information sharing is set as opt in as default. Unfortunately all the years I got rid of email and fax spammers/scammers that was the way they wanted it to be. Opt out of something they have no right to opt you in for which is backwards.

the sight is for WIRELESS customers

the phone number is for WIRED customers

Yes the phone number 1-800-922-0204 is Verizon Wireless however grasshopper the 1-800-VERIZON is the new number to handle the wireless, phone and Fios so the link was absolutely valid. 😛

The link although for wireless per se se can also be used to opt out of all service cpni

so the link although deceptive as to purpose (also read the whole page at http://www.verizon.com/about/privacy/customer-proprietary-network-information) towards the bottom gives a number not for wireless.

you cannot admit you were wrong and the links were valid. But if you found the solution yourself why did you keep the thread going? Doing a little trolling yourself? Thought so.
