FIOS Download Speed
Malcolm_Guidry

Hello - I just upgraded my internet speed to the 75/35 package.  I tuned up my PC this morning and did 2 speed tests on 2 separate websites.  Both showed me download speeds of over 80 mbps.  However, it took over 30 seconds for my system to download a web page with video on Huffingtonpost.com.  This is unacceptable.  I upgraded my internet expecting to not encounter such an issue.  What gives??

Again, this is unacceptable.

Not sure if I can help, but I will certainly try.

Evidently you've demonstrated to yourself that your download speeds meet or exceed the specification you're paying for.  Why then would it concern Verizon Communications that the server hosting the Huffington Post web site is performing poorly?  It's likely that the Huffingtonpot.com server is the bottleneck.

Verizon guarantees your speed TO the internet.  NOT to any specific site you might choose to visit.

If your download speed at two different sites meets, or exceeds, the speed promised in your package, then Verizon is fulfilling their obligation.

At varies times the servers at many websites will become overloaded and the visitors will experience a subpar performance.  That is not the fault of the ISP.
