I recently got a smart tv and am trying to access the wi fi on it. The tv is in the front of the house but I was told when the internet was installed the router would reach anywhere in the house for a wifi connection. Now it shows on this tv and when I try to use other devices on it that wifi is a good signal but no internet connection.
This is extremely frustrating. Any suggestions? Starting to consider finding a new internet provider. My internet is spotty at best and drops signal consistently.
Do you ahve any other wifi devices?
Can they connect to wifi in the same room as the TV?
If so, it could be an issue with the TV. Not all wifi devices (just like routers) are the same.
There are a lot of factors that can affect wifi.
If you have a laptop or cellphone, do you see any other wifi networks when you scan in the room where the TV is?
Are they on the same channel as your wifi? Could be causing interference.
Try changing the cahnnel on your wifi from auto to a particular channel.
Can try moving it around to see if recepton gets better.
How do you go about changing channel on the wifi?
You change your WiFi channel via the configuration pages in your router.
What make/model router do you have for a more specific answer?
