You haven't defined "far away". 100 feet? 1000 feet?
Do you have a coax connection whewre the stereo receiver is?
Here are the most common connection methods
2) coax with MOCA adapter
3) Powerline networking
You haven't given enough information to give a specific recommendation.
Here is some more information. Not sure how many feet exactly but the receiver is in the basement three floors down from the router. The receiver has a coaxial port in the back for internet connections. It is not possible to have a hard connection directly between the two.
What model stero receiver is that you are talking about?
The receiver has a coaxial port in the back for internet connections.
I'm not aware of any stereo receivers that support MOCA (coax) connections.
What i was asking was if you had a coax connection for a TV or STB nearby.
If so, you can use a MOCA LAN adapter.
