I've been recently getting very high ping lately (100+ms) to the D.C. and online games, opposed to the ping I usually get which is normally at 7ms. It started happening last week when I moved my router upstairs. Thinking that was the problem, I moved it back down and the ping still appeared to be the same. I called verizon about 3 times, and they usually just told me to reset modem and obviously this did not solve the problem.
I've done a lot of things to try to fix this problem such as: resetting modem, changing cable and ethernet, etc. but it still seems to not fix the high ping problem.
The ping will go to 12ms sometimes, but most of the time it sticks around 100ms, and it's really annoying.

It looks like you're on FiOS, not DSL, but if you could supply us with a traceroute to your game server or so on, that would help us see where the problem is.

well it's in every game server and the high ping is also showing up on speedtest.net.
here's a pic of a recent test, and as you can see the ping is 58ms, which is relatively high compared to my old 9ms and my download speeds are slower as well.

I hear you man. I got the same exact problem, but happens during the day through midnight. I get high pings of 55ms-100ms.
Called VZ FSC many times, they've told me to reset the router, unplug, etc etc... didnt do a thing. They also sent out like a couple of techs out one of them being a network tech who replaced my coax cable and ONT which imrpoved my speeds, but not the high ping rate.
I've tried everything possible on my side, just doesnt budge. I did trace routs, and doesn't seem to be within VZ network as thier pings were well elevated.
Heres a trace route:

As you can see starting from the 5, 6th hop and forward, very high pings... and when ever I do a speedtest it gives me a mid-ranged high ping rate which makes my connection a bit slower, but this is FIBER OPTICS, VERIZON DO YOU HEAR US? This shouldnt be an issue for any verizon customer. It is unnacceptable as we are PAYING for the service. Please fix this Verizon.
