I'm back....

Following is a new log right after I rebooted the router, thinking that might fix my downtime.  I've been having new problems since a few days ago with it going down a few times in a row.

I'm also going to call the Verizon tech who fixed my problem last time, but he didn't really seem to know much on the software side, he just ran around outside checking terminals, it seemed.

My suggestion would be to stop using their router.  Their routers are complete crap.  I solved my connection problem by using the Verizon modem as a modem solely and then hooking up a Netgear dual-band gigabit router to it and using that as my router.  This has fixed my connection problems

It's been nearly 21 days since I last reported, and service has only gotten worse.  I know verizon pretty much has the Eastern Shore of Virginia by the short 'n' curlies, but this is insane.  Quite a few people in the community are having issues with slow internet and/or random disconnects.  Lucky for me, I'm getting both.  My tranciever statistics are fine, my speed as displayed by the modem/router is fine.

I haven't called the verizon tech who actually came out here last time, becuase I lost his card, somewhere, or the cat ate it, and the thought of dealing with verizon support gives me stomach ulcers.

I ran tracerts and this is what I got:

The above is with no real load on the router.  Just a computer on.  Nothing downloading, nothing streaming, nothing doing at all, other than the tracert.

In fact, the gateway went down while I was typing this post.  Amazing, right?

@NWNJ, I actually switched back to their router, hoping it would cease the problems.  My other router is a ZOOM ADSL2+ Model 5690 X6 router, which had some of the best reviews out there.

If http://www.esvabroadband.net brings fiber to the shore, I hope Verizon doesn't touch it.  I'd hate to give this company more of my money so it can keep screwing those who have to remain with their DSL service.

Oh, DSL just went out again.  Awesome!

Well, I guess I'm going to call India tomorrow, and see about actually getting someone out here.  Is there any way to get pushed up to tier 2/3 tech support quickly?  John Smith, with the heavy Indian accent, doesn't quite gather that I have checked to see if the device is on.
