Limit access of one SSID on extender network to rest of network

Hi,

We use a fios-quantum-gateway-router since 2018. I needed to buy another network extender so that a new smart device in the kitchen would work -- the FIOS router's guest network wouldn't work reliably that far.

The new Netgear (EX2800) extender has two SSIDs. I used one for a new 'guest' network only for smart devices near it, as don't want device companies snooping our other network data.

I am far from a networking export.

How may I limit access of the current smart-home device in the kitchen so it is separated from rest of network?

  1. Is there a way to configure the new 'guest' SSID from the extension router so it is segregated from the rest of the network?
  2. Or do I need to do something to each specific device that I want to limit access of, maybe a subnet on the FIOS router? Please help with specific things to do in  FIOS router config if you can, or mention the relevant words at least.

Thanks in advance

Would upgrading to a G3100 and adding an E3200 be doable?

Deferring to you, that would probably work, but be expensive for the small risk
