Modem/router

I have Verizon DSL service.

I found a D-Link Wireless ADSL2+Router at a thrift shop that appears to be new. Can I change out my 9 year old Westell Model 2200 modem and Netgear router for this new combination device? The D-Link modem/router has Verizon's name on it.

I have downloaded a manual for this device that appears to have full instructions for installing on Verizon DSL service.

Welcome to the forums.  You're talking to other Verizon customers here.  If you want answers from Verizon, you'll need to contact them directly using methods provided in the "contact us" link at the bottom of these pages.

Generally speaking, you should be able to use any ADSL modem with Verizon.  You may need to adjust some settings, especially if Verizon happens to use PPP login in your area (although that is very unlikely).  The easiest approach is to plug it in and see if it works.  If that fails, then dig into the settings on your current modem to see if you can find any that need to be moved to the new modem.

Good Luck.
