I believe the Connection to the router is usually made via Ethernet, but I can find no obvious reason why it cannot be coax. The Coax MoCA data rate is often well above 200mbps. The 1.1 standard guarantees a minimum of 175mbps will be available, so 150 mbps should not be a major problem.
I believe the concern is with the ONTs. While they come with Gigabit NICs, the MoCa device is only capable of MoCa 1.0. Even then, 150Mbps (running at 155Mbps) with a maximum of 175Mbps total isn't the best practice, since in theory if you manage to max the connection out, overhead will push you past 88% link capacity. If it's not full duplex it can cause some further issues for very heavy usage. Ethernet is in which case better to stick with. Lower latency, 300Mbps is not out of the ballpark, and more headroom for maintaining a level of Quality of Service.
