Plug into different phone jack?

I've had DSL for only two weeks and isn't impress with the speed I'm getting.  I've called tech support to complain about the speed and they have given me options (i.e. Not using a splitter and plug the DSL line directly into the phone jack).  That actually improved the speed for a few hours but then it started to get sluggish again.  Now I'm thinking maybe it might have something to do with the phone jack itself  in my computer room.

So I am wondering will moving the DSL line to a different phone jack in another room help or it doesn't matter because the wires will still be the same no matter what?  Anybody tried this?  Any help will be appreciated.  Thanks!

You may get better (or worse) results from various phone jacks in the house.  However the usual resolution to the problem requires a service call from Verizon. House wiring can be a significant issue with DSL performance,

What is usually done is a 'whole house' filter is installed at the service entrance(replacing all of the filters) , and new jack that runs directly to the NIB in front on the whole house filter, is installed. You use that jack for DSL and DSL only. That pretty much takes the house wiring completely  out of the equation.
