Replace old Verizon router with third party router

I have Verizon Fios internet only with an old (circa 2013) Verizon router with coaxial connection. We have multiple wireless devices in the house and have been experiencing intermittent connectivity issues and general poor performance. I would like to replace the Verizon router with a more robust commercial router, but I need Ethernet rather than Coax connection. Will a Moca Ethernet over Coax adapter do the trick? Thanks- David

You can use a MoCa adapter, but you will need two. The setup would be...

ONT > ethernet > 1st adapter > existing coax> 2nd adapter > ethernet to non-Verizon router WAN port.

I should have added: Can I use a commercial (non-Verizon) touter without having to run Ethernet cable through my house?
