Router recieving 8000Kbps while my wired connection is only 0.5Mbps

My router is a Westell 7500, the wifi and wired connections are super slow. I do not know the specifics but I can look them up for you if you tell me where to go. Verizon phone/ chat support has been no help. I have wasted over 6 hours and it has not solved anything. All I know is I am paying for good service every month and end up using my neighbors wifi. This is my verizon experience.
