Speed Check

Hi, I just wanted to check if my connection speed is running normal. My current plan is 1.1mbps-3mbps

and my current bandwidth is at 1632 mbps, my peak download speed is around 170 KB/s max. Is that around right? Am I getting normal speeds?

Here's my transciever stats, most of this is like reading chinese to me by the way and I do live in an apartment if that factors in.

Your line isn't synchronized correctly. It seems Verizon has your connection set for 3Mbps, but the modem due to line conditions cannot negotiate a speed that high.

Start off by performing a NID test and getting the same statistics you've just provided again, from the NID. See this FAQ on what a NID is and how to do the test: http://www.dslreports.com/faq/4787

Use these two websites. One is on the Verizon network, and one is off the network. This should give you a real world representation, in a sense, of how the line is performing.

Test came up at 1.42 mbps and about the line problem, does Verizon provide service to fix that? I live in an apartment so I don't want to do something dumb with the box myself.

Verizon will fix and should also make an effort to ensure the line is running optimally up to the Network Interface connecting your apartment's wiring to Verizon's network. At that point, anything from the Interface to your apartment is the responsibility of your landlord to fix, unless you wish to be billed for any repairs made by Verizon. Outside wiring is included in your service already, so no charge there.
