What model router do you have?

And how many STBs do you have connected? And what models?

It might be that if you have an older model router, that you have exceeded the limit of devices you can have on the coax.

When you post a picture, you have to wait for it to be approved for others to view.

You get that triangle symbol until then.

Not sure where you have the splitter in your case.  Note I am pretty sure trying to put the box after the extender for non-quantum boxes will not work.  You need to split before and have one go to stb and one to the extender.  Quantum IP boxes can be connected via a Ethernet cable off the extender although I again don't think you can connect off the extender.

The only exception would be if the extender has an option top pass local lan MOCA signals through a coax.  And it depends on what version of MOCA it allows to be passed.

STILL sounds like a bad splitter.  Did you replace with bi-directional two way splitter that preferably passes frequencies to at least 2mhz?  I use ones that are good to 3mhz (because of previous use with Dish devices).

He has replaced the splitter. And he said that either port works but not both simultaneously.

I am thinking he has hit the MOCA limit.

His picks show that he has 7 devices.

Do you mean 3 GHz?  I looked at a splitter on our coax and it says  moca 2.0 .....2-way splitter.....

5-1675 MHz.....2kV...with 1 "IN" and 2 "OUT 3.5dB" jacks...

Thanks everyone for your responses so far. I am out of the house at a conference and will not be able to get some of the information you requested until I get back. I honestly don't remember exactly what we have hooked up through coax, so it is possible some sort of coax limit has been reached.

For those asking about the splitter, here is a link to two splitters I have tried for my setup. The top is the replacement I bought, and the bottom is the one supplied to us by verizon. Neither have worked.

As for router type, I'll again have to check when I get back but it has been exchanged once before and the problems are still occurring.

I see some people mentioning Quantum, which we do have downstairs but a normal STB box upstairs. Could that somehow be part of the problem? I know that while we can access DVR upstairs that it is actually stored on the box downstairs I believe. Again I don't know if this is relevant but it could be helpful for all I know.

I won't be back home until next week, but I will get router and coax connections when I can. Thanks!

The Verizon splitter should of worked, but may be defective.  Not familiar with Rocketfish, but the in out labels MAY imply its not bidirectional which doesn't work with FIOS.

Hey everyone. Thanks for all your help. Finally bit the bullet and had verizon come out to inspect what was wrong. The tech had no familiarity with extenders so it took awhile and quite a few phone calls but the answer was this: Extenders don't work with Quantum routers. Period. Even with my cable box unplugged and the extender in,  I would just be making the Internet connection more unstable because the extender and quantum routers compete in some way for signal. So after all the headaches the solution ends up being extender is a no go. Oh well. Thanks again for trying to help!
