New FIOS customer for not quite 2 weeks. Was assured we could work direct-connect through router as well as wireless on another floor. Unable to stay connected via wireless. Verizon upped the level on the router which made things worse. Finally, tech came out and ran cable to the upper floor to direct connect the lower level computer via Ethernet. While it's better in that I do not drop a connection altogether, I still have periods where the internet freezes for 30-40 seconds and then will resume processing.
I work online and have a headset on most of the day. Since day one, there is static noise in the headset, something I never had with Comcast. It reaches the point that if I am not actively listening to a file through the headset, I have to take the headset off. So it dawned on me this morning, is it possible this noise is what is affecting my connectivity issues? If so, how would I remedy that?
