Verizon search redirect

When I turned off my VPN I was redirected to Verizon's own search page (It had been so long since I had turned off VPN I had forgotten about that "functionality.") Setting aside the violation of the concentp of net neutrality I was hoping to redirect DNS to avoid their doing that but on the FIOS Gateway server it looks like you need to do it for each device on the network. Anyone know a workaround?

Not sure if this is what you are referring to, when the Verizon search page pops up it has a very small link that disables their overriding of your preferred search.

click it and presto it's gone.
