What is a Verizon Wireless password

Isn't the password on the router? That's where mine is, under setup on my Linksys E2500 running DDWRT What do people mean in these forums when they say Verizon Wireless password What does it have to do with my Verizon account?

The default Wi-Fi and administrative passwords are located on the plates of the routers. These have no association with Verizon Wireless.
