hello,
I am trying to extend the download and upload speed from the router by the entrance to my unit all the way to outer reaches of my unit. Verizon shipped me a wifi extender however the wifi ID and password seem to be different than the router. Can I reconfigure the wifi name from the extender to be the same as the router?
if not, what solution do you recommend to have the same wifi network with great strength throughout the house? I was looking into mesh network like Google mesh or Amazon or Amazon eero.

The Extender will copy all of the router's information including the administrative password once it finds a G3100 or a CR1000A on wire. It is normally plug and play, unless you have other requirements.
It sounds like your router is at a remote location, is it inside your house? If not, you might need to physically secure the router a bit to prevent someone stealing your Internet or outright wiretapping.
