Channel 108 abc news now a national channel that exists for most customers is going to be removed on monday to make way for a new channel that will be called fusion. That new channel called fusion will be a joint venture between univision and abc news that will be owned by disney where it will be aimed at hispanic audiences who want a 24/7 channel that is mostly about news and entertainment that can accessed at any time of the day without actually having to pay for a spanish package to get cnn espanol. One of the hosts on that channel who also works at univision will be univision's popular news anchor jorge ramos. Another channel on the way is antenna 3 from spain which is a news channel from there where it will be added at channel 1515. Also on the way as i have mentioned before is channel 1517 ultra tainment, 479 america teve, and telefe a channel from argentina just to name a few. Peru magico is on the way too.

I have to give verizon props for adding more spanish language channels than i ever thought they would, thats a smart move by them now if someday these could be in HD that would be nice. Of course theres only so much you can do if the channel is not in HD to begin with.

It's VERY smart. Personally I have no use for these channels, but I certainly understand what they're attempting to do by adding so many.

Look at it from a historical perspective. Columbus "discovered" America on ships paid for by the Spanish. The Spanish for a while owned most of the southeastern US, including Miami Beach. There's talk that they also, for a while, owned most of the western part of what is now the United States. I'm including Hollywood in this discussion. And don't forget Dallas and Las Vegas.
After a bit it appears that "Americans" took over most of the Spanish territory in various ways, and then it became "American." Seems only fair that the original owners get their fair share of TV programming.

This sucks , I have Extreme HD and I'm going to lose ABC News Now one less channel
and no rate adjustment. While who have Ultimate have lost Gol TV Channel.

ABC news replacement with Fusion has nothing to do with Verizon. Its a business decision ABC (Disney) made, and is heavily advertising. Not that you would get a rate adjustment if they dropped a channel, but in fact no "channel" is actually being dropped, just content is changing.
