The Dallas Stars game vs the St. Louis Blues did not air on Verizon TV. It should have been carried on FSSW+ (chnl 333). Intead, a Big Ten basketball game was being carried. Keep in mind that the same game was being carried on all four Big Ten stations (Big Ten 1 - 4). I've also had issues with Dallas Stars games on FSSW+ having incorrect start times. This is a problem when you're recording the game. Can we please do a better job of making sure the programming is correct for Dallas Stars games?
I too had issues with the Stars game last night. I called customer service to ask why the game wasn't on. The first rep I contacted (after 30+ minutes on hold) couldn't access my account at all and hung up on me! After another 30+ min on hold, I was directed to a technical support rep who immediately informed me that the game was blacked out. After I told him that other TV providers were broadcasting the game, he said that Verizon has different blackout rules. Amazingly at the start of the third period, the game came on on channel 333. I left DirecTV after 10+ years because of issues like this. The prolonged wait times to get anyone in customer service, service reps giving inaccurate answers to questions are serious issues to me. I understand that communication issues occur with sporting event broadcasts, but for a rep to automatically tell me the game is blacked out when it obviously isn't is ridiculous.
I noticed the same thing.. but I saw the game on 333 during the 2nd period.
I've read discussions that Fox Sports + will soon have it's own channel instead of having to share space with the big ten overflow channel.
Thanks for the reply. I think it would be great if FS-SW+ could come in as an HD channel so we can watch all 82 Stars in games in HD. I searched the forums and I didn't see a thread stating that FS-SW+ was getting its own channel. Can you provide a link? I left Dish Network last year because of missing Stars games. I like FIOS and would appreciate some positive news about the remaining Stars games to be aired on FS-SW+. 🙂
There's no timeline of course, but it has been revealed by @fiostv on twitter that the next HD channel to be added will be FS Southwest+ for those within the footprint.
I too was a very frustrated Stars fan who didn't get to see the game until the 2nd intermission. I'd just love to see FSSW+ get its own channel, if it happens to be HD then bonus.
It would be great if Verizon adds FSSW+ to the line up full time. However, that still doesn't change the poor customer service they're providing. To give a knee-jerk response that a game must be blacked out because it's not being shown on FIOS is silly. They even had the game listed on the guide earlier in the week. I had a DVR recording scheduled for the game. Even double checked it Sunday morning and all was good. Much to my surprise, @ 5:00 my DVR didn't start recording and there was no indication that any recording had ever been scheduled. At least on DIRECTV, when a change occurred to interfere with a scheduled recording, the info was still there with an error message attached.
