Delete partial recordings

Is there a way to delete a partial recording of a video?

Let's say I record 3 hours of something and want to delete only the last hour of it. Can that be done at all (even in future upgrades)?

Currently no way to do this.  I believe this may have been suggested on the Ideas Exchange.  Search there and if it exists add your vote, otherwise propose it as a new idea.
