This one is probably for the Verizon employees who monitor these boards.....
What's an optimal signal power level for a digital channel on the diagnostic screen (d4)? How's 36dB? Pretty good?

What is shown on that screen is SNR (signal to noise ratio) and yes 36 dB is good.
However, you and most people are confusing this with signal level or power. Signal level is in dBm, volts, or watts. SNR is a measure of how clean the signal is not how strong it is. You can have 36 dB SNR and huge or small signal - it is simply a ratio of the signal to the noise floor.
