Intermittent sound problem on multi room DVR playback on STB

I have a multi room DVR with one additional STB. The playback quality on the multi room DVR is fine but on the STB there are times when the sound is completely cut out for a maximum one second. This might happen every few minutes so it gets on my nerves. This doesn't happen on the multi room DVR or when the STB is playing live TV.
