Many DVR Problems...

Hello everyone. Anyone else experience these problems with their DVR? First, I'm getting many "currently unavailable" prompts on many channels. Also, when I switch channels, the on-screen display will show the new channel, but the displayed channel is actually the previous one. They don't sync up very often. The only way to correct this, is to move the remotes channel selector back and forth until both the on-screen display and the channel are the same. In addition, when activating the DVR to playback a program, it sometimes will not show on screen. It indicates "play" on the box but nothing happens on the TV. I have to turn the box off and restart it to make this work. Also, in addition to this mess, when I turn on the TV, the picture will often be blank with sound only. To correct, I have to change the channel up or down to get the picture to finally display. I had the HD box without DVR and everything worked fine, until I got this thing. A hard reboot of the unit seems to correct most of this, but it's getting to be very annoying. What's wrong with these DVR boxes?

I have the same thing. Weird.

Exact same symptoms. Haven't done a hard reboot of the DVR yet. The other DVRs in the house don't see to have the same problem, yet. I got all DVRs on installation instead of one DVR with media manager and the others just HD boxes. They are fixing that soon.

I wonder if I'll still have the problem?

How long after reboot does it seem to come back?

If you have a 7216 STB exchange it for a 6416 STB, many of your problems will go away. SD PQ will not be quite as good though.

"Rebooting" the box seems to correct most of the problems mentioned, however they return again in a few days time.

I get the same problems and they keep resetting it and it works for a few hours and tehn I manually reset it. I am tired of this and demanding a new box, but it looks like a new one might not work either.  Only happens on Multi-room DVR - other set top boxes have no problems.

If you do this when they get around to haveing the eSATA port opened up you will be out of luck.

But if you ask when is when no one will be able to give you an answer out side of maybe next month or with in a few months, the same answer's they have been feeding people since last October 2008.

The 7216 has many issues that "Motorola" is attempting to fix and until they fix existing problems the esata expansion will be put on the back burner. If you, ANYONE, has a 7216 that is full of glitches (bugs) the cure is a 6416-2 and any honest Verizon tech will tell you that.

If esata expension is a magor concern pay attention the these forums, when the 7216 problems have been over come im sure there will be postings on it as will also WHEN the esata function is enabled by Motorola!
