New FIOS TV app won't let me log in. Error code: 9-6-24-302-100

Spent an hour with the support but no avail. He says it needs the Verizon Service for some services to be synced. The website and the sales agent clearly stated that I CAN use the FIOS TV app on the iPhone RIGHT AFTER the account signup and no need for the actual install.. I hope this is the last of the issues .. I have not yet switched off my previous service provider !!
